Following the club’s 2016 Jr. D National Football championship, KCGAC served as the Grand Marshal for the 2017 Kansas City St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The theme of the parade was Peace. Love. The 1947 All-Ireland Football Final was played at the Polo Grounds in New York City. While the All-Ireland Hurling Final remained at Croke Park in Dublin the week before, the Football Final was played overseas as more than 34,000 fans watched Cavan beat Kerry 2-11 to 2-7.

This was the first and only time an All-Ireland Final has been played outside of Ireland. The match was played in New York as a centenary anniversary of the Great Famine that forced mass emigration from Ireland to New York.
