It is believed that Hurling has been played in Ireland for more than 3,000 years. The first written reference dates back to the Bronze Age in 1272 BC, just after the Battle of Kadesh in Syria, which was the largest chariot vs chariot battle ever.

Hurling is older than recorded history and was referenced numerous times throughout Irish literature and mythology. Hurling was around long before St. Patrick, the Viking raids, and the arrival of the Celts.
